Process Control Engineer

Our Reduction Department has an opportunity for a Process Control Engineer, within our Reduction Technical process team accountable for a variety of tasks including:

  • Optimising process control strategy by controlling input and response parameters
  • Monitoring key measures and troubleshooting day-to-day issues to keep process in control.
  • Support the business improvement (BI) drive by initiating, running and validating BI improvement projects to reduce variation and improve process capability of key metrics.
  • Routine reporting, data collection and maintenance of data in a range of databases and spreadsheets.
  • Liaising with and assisting other technical staff in the control of development trial work in Reduction.
  • Assisting in the development of staff in process and technical understanding
  • Standardisation of processes with the other Reduction lines via the PCE Hub and through the application of the Reduction Process Control Standard.
  • Provide support and advice to Reduction Superintendents where necessary
  • Technical reporting.

The successful applicant will have:

  • A Bachelor of Chemical Engineering or 5 years relevant experience in a process control role.
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to quickly create and maintain good working relationships at all levels.
  • An understanding of Reduction processes and operations.
  • Competency in planning and managing development projects.
  • Proven ability to analyse data using statistical tools to identify changes in the process.
  • Proficiency to work with a range of computer systems including PCs and Cell Control automation systems.
